These are the progress pictures of the new car

This is how the car launches after extensive chassis work and new "Chassis Works" chromoly cage...which includes a 3" torsion raise, a 1" tranny raise, a 4" narrowing of the front beam and addition of front beam adjusters.

The pictures below are from the original build of the car...it has gone through many changes since then!

Team 187...out to kill the competition!!!

I decided to go with S/G 187...because these guys need to know that I'm not coming to play around...I'm out to just kill that class!!!

Rear sheetmetal

Since I did all the chassis modifications myself...I figured why not try doing some sheetmetal fabrication work...this is what I came up with...all dzus'd in and finished in one day!!!

2276cc at 13.2:1 compression

Here's the 2276 cc power plant that I blew up last year...it's the same drive train that was in the DRKC car. Check out the computer fans I mounted to keep the heads cool...they push 200 cfm work great get me back to the pits.

New dash and tach mount

I decided to keep the dash real simple...with the extra material I had from my rear firewall, I came up with this dash. It had a switch for ignition, fuel pump, fans, and rear night light system which is mandatory for night racing. I even added a quick release for the steering wheel for me to get in and out of the car in between rounds...because I do plan on going rounds!!!

Rear end!!!

Here's another shot of the rear end...notice the custom muffler that I made out of an old stinger, the wheelie bars that Eddie Boyle gave me, and the easy access to the drive train with the fenders off.

Fuel cell and wiring...

Here's a shot of my new fuel cell, wiring, battery mount, and fuel pump...it looks a lot cleaner after I zip tied everything. Even my old dog "Peaches" liked what she was looking at...DAMN, I miss my Peach!!!

Breather box

I believe that it is required to have a 1 quart breather box...well, I came up with this formed aluminum box that probably holds 4 quarts...LOL

Torsion raise and shifting rod.

Here's a good shot of the in-house torsion raise that I did with the help of my buddy Albert Medina. You could also see the custom coupling I used for that smooth shifting we all like. I had to bring the brake lines over to the passenger's side because of the new staging brake being mounted there.

Front beam

Here's a good shot of the front beam I narrowed 4" and the fuel cell mounting bracket I fabbed. I installed the fuel cell pump bracket where the pump would be easily accessable.

Shifter box relocation...

As you probably know, I'm a little wider then your average racer...LOL...so, I decided to move the shift box out a little which required me to use a whole new shift rod and coupling.

Space for two VW's

How would you like these toys in your garage???

Wing...

Ray Mejia was cool enough to let me use him aluminum wing as a model for mine...I made some minor modifications and this is what my buddy, Carlos Garcia, came up with.

BUSTERJOHN!!!

Now when you see me in my car...you will know who BusterJohn is...LOL
